🗺️ Access Points Upgraded to Peripheral Markers

Peripheral Markers have additional functionality including new pre-set sizing options or customization. Creators can select from preset A0 – A4 sizes or create custom sizes for QR codes to best fit the space or venue. Key upgrades include: 

Sizing– an array of options can be chosen based on deployment environment: 

• Size A0: Recommended for expansive areas like a large hall or foyer with high foot traffic. Can be scanned from distances up to 4m. 

• Size A1: Recommended for open areas with high to moderate foot traffic e.g. near elevators, escalators, stairs etc. Can be scanned from distances up to 3m. 

• Size A2-A3: Recommended for medium sized areas. Can be scanned from distances up to 2m. 

• Size A4-Letter: Recommended for smaller spaces e.g. rooms in an office. Can be scanned from distances up to 1m. 

• Speed of Scan - Peripheral Markers have decreased scan time for the visitor. Larger access points will have the fastest scan time. 

  
  

• Placement - Access points can be scanned from different angles and can now be placed on horizontal surfaces e.g. on the ground. 

  
  
  
  
  
  

• Accuracy & Range - Upgraded accuracy of AR experience rendering after localization and extended range of wayfinding. 

  
  

• Creator Flexibility - Creators can change the dimensions or placement information to edit Peripheral Markers in the app. 

  
  

• Scan in Motion - Visitors can scan on-the-go! A0 and A1 QR code and IAPs are scannable from over a meter away as the visitor is in motion.

↗️ Updated Location Pin Indicator 

• The location pin indicator has enhanced directionality to provide clear guidance to the product or destination when the visitor is facing the wrong direction.

💬 New Stability and Low Light Notifications 

• New notifications before guided tours and during navigation inform visitors of environmental factors that may affect accuracy in their AR session.  

• Low light notification informs users that there is insufficient light in the environment so visitors can remain in well-lit areas. 

📳 Amenity Pin Shortcut 

• Amenity pin icon shortcut is available to visitors on the main screen. Visitors can click the icon to view a list of restrooms and amenities in the map without searching through the directory.  

⚓️ Anchored Floor Plan Pegs

• Floor plan pegs anchored during the floor plan alignment process in ARway app now appear on the 2D map. Displaying all anchored pegs on the 2D map streamlines the floor plan alignment process enabling faster and more accurate map alignments.

📱 ARwayKit 3.0 SDK is now equipped with SLAM upgrades as well as all the latest features and updates that are available on the ARway app!  

• Enhanced SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) creates a more stable AR experience during navigation for visitors by stabilizing the position of the paths, generating a more realistic ‘phygital’ experience.  

• Multi-Map Navigation and Directory: Seamlessly navigate across connected maps to any location in the directory.  

• Connector Pins: Connect maps at various points like elevators, escalators, stairs and bridges for smooth multi-map navigation. 

• Localization Drift Dial: Modify the state of localization drift dial for specific maps, ensuring precise navigation.  

• Audio Directions: Assist visitors with audio directions in English for effortless navigation. 

• Peripheral Marker Tracking: Peripheral Access Points elevate scanning access points by offering creators more flexibility in deployment and by allowing map visitors to scan access points from different angles and distances. 

• Improved Accuracy & Range: Refined computer vision and image tracking capabilities. Enhanced rendering accuracy of AR experiences in the real-world. Upgraded scanning speed and accuracy of visual markers.  

• Improved Texture and Rendering for Tour Paths: The tour path appears smooth and level as visitors navigate the guided tour path on a journey through the map. 

• Navigation Path and Location Pin Display: Updated height calculations for tour paths mean that the paths will stay at a set height above the ground, even if there are fluctuations in ground height.
